The Old Bank is a charming venue located in the heart of York. The project focused on refreshing the existing basement space, making it feel brighter, more welcoming and more inviting while keeping the character of the venue.
The bar area has been updated with new wallpaper and wall colours to lift the space, along with new fixed seating finished in vibrant patterned fabrics to create a more lively feel. The bar front has been repainted and new pendant lighting has been installed to bring warmth to the space and enhance the overall atmosphere.
Bright colours and patterns have been used throughout the scheme to help the dark basement feel lighter and more welcoming, creating a fun and energetic atmosphere across the venue.
The project has included the creation of a new bookable PDR, along with an uplift to the existing private dining space, allowing the venue to introduce a new bottomless brunch area. This space has been designed with softer seating, a new neon feature light and a more relaxed layout, giving it a comfortable feel compared to the main bar area.
A new interactive darts area was also introduced, designed with a darker, moodier feel to create contrast within the venue and offer a different experience for customers — perfect for a game while enjoying a drink.
Where possible, existing furniture has been reused and elevated through new finishes and fabrics to make it feel more fun and vibrant, while new light fittings throughout have helped transform the venue from a dark basement into a bright, modern pub.
It was great to work with our longstanding client, Stonegate, on another fabulous project!
