Situated on the edge of the Somerset Levels near Bridgwater, we recently completed a full refurbishment of this characterful 18th-century pub in collaboration with Butcombe.
We aimed to breathe new life into the building while retaining its original warmth and charm. The refreshed design brings together classic details and modern comfort, creating a space that feels both familiar and new. Inside, exposed brick walls, timber accents, and warm wood flooring highlight the pub’s historic features, while new lighting and natural textures add a soft, welcoming feel throughout.
As part of the works, we recovered some of the fixed seating and introduced new furniture and lighting to complement the building’s natural materials and warm tones. Finishing touches, including carefully selected bric-a-brac and decorative pieces, add character and bring a sense of individuality to the space.
The result is a beautifully refreshed pub that stays true to its roots while offering a comfortable and inviting setting for guests to enjoy. It was a pleasure to work once again with our friends at Butcombe on another beautiful project.
