The Swan’s dated interiors were failing to appeal to the student market on the doorstep of this University’s campus, so Concord BGW stepped in to turn this around. Gone was the drab, classic pub décor, making way for bright pops of colour, vintage wallpapers and quirky bric-a-brac; injecting life into a space that previously had none.
On entry, students are now greeted with bright, eclectic interiors thanks to the deep turquoise greens, rich purples and patterned wallpapers that now adorn the walls. A mix of vintage leather and geometric patterned seating offers a comfortable pew for punters, with industrial-style lighting creating an ambient glow throughout, no matter what the time of day. Exposed vents and metal design finishes give the bar a contemporary, industrial feel alongside attractive brass finishes; warmed by educational-themed artwork throughout. Concorde BGW also created a new external dining/drinking area on the bar’s ground floor, helping to attract fresh custom from the riverside along which it sits.
