Taking a walk through the 1960s, geometric prints in bold colours run through the space while retro armchairs, vintage accessories and hanging lighting features finish the look. To bring things bang up to date, we’ve chosen a mix of reclaimed timber for the tables and added streamlined booths in dark leather or bright turquoise. Flashes of other primary colours like orange and red create an energetic, modern look while scaling back the furniture has created a roomier feel.
As a nod to the students’ love of learning, we incorporated a reading theme. Books take centre stage in the shelving and have been used to create a quirky ceiling feature that’s a real talking point
We’ve also revamped the bar area, using copper pipe shaving, turquoise tiling in the back bar and copper finishings to make it a focal point of the room.
The upstairs games zone has an even more relaxed vibe, with sports-themed bric-a-brac, pool tables, comfy armchairs to recline into and crate coffee tables to prop a drink on. Floor-to-ceiling windows make the most of the view of the city and allow light to come streaming into the room.
Together, the revamp has created a versatile and inspiring space that’s suited to furious studying sessions just as much as a raucous night out.
