Interestingly, the changes Buccaneer Holdings wanted to make were based on customer feedback!

Concorde worked on both the ground floor and the first floor where the bedrooms are located. One of the main function rooms was closed off from the rest of the pub prior to the refurbishment, so to make it a more useable space, walls were opened-up with characterful archways giving the room direct access to the main trade area. The archways have sliding doors so the room can still be used for private functions.

Fireplaces both old and new help create focal points in the rooms and when the colder weather sets in, we're sure their customers will enjoy getting cosy in front of the dancing flames.

New lighting and furniture with a traditional look and feel were installed. Lounge chairs and seating booths have been put in the cosy snug and lounge areas and poseur tables and fixed seating booths have been used to make the most of the space in the bar and restaurant. The 20-year-old carpet was replaced, to help distinguish the bar, restaurant, snug, private dining and lounge areas we used a mix of timber flooring, sisal effect flooring, tiles and carpet.

As with many pub refurbishments special attention was paid to the bar and back bar. The back bar has new bottle steps with LED lights illuminating their drink offering. The bar front was painted, and decorative skirting was added to improve its overall look.

“The Carpenters Arms in Stanton Wick is still the Carps that everyone loves just better.”

Simon Pledge, Landlord

The rooms were refurbished in a stunning contemporary style with touches of the traditional. Oversized headboards affixed to wooden clad walls sit above twin, double or king size beds. Full decorations from carpets to lighting and even new tub chairs, throws and scatter cushions create their relaxed atmosphere.

The en-suite bathrooms have been reconfigured allowing for more floor space and have new fitting such as shower trays, tiles, rain showers, mixer taps and flooring.

The Carpenters Arms is no longer a tired countryside pub, it’s a much improved destinational pub with a warm atmosphere and admirable rooms to rent.
