Apprentice Accounts Assistant


A fantastic opportunity is available for an apprentice Accounts Assistant to join a friendly team in our head office in Doncaster. We are a growing design, build and reactive maintenance company working predominantly in the leisure and hospitality industries as well as commercial and public sectors.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to begin or progress their career in accounts while gaining a valuable qualification.  You must have excellent organisational and communication skills, a passion for numbers, be able to manage a varied workload and work well unsupervised and as part of a team. The day-to-day duties will include the below:

  • Input of Purchase Invoices into Accounting Software
  • Supplier Statement Reconciliations
  • Assisting in processing employee expense claims
  • Assisting in Year End Stock Take
  • Assisting in Credit Card Reconciliations
  • Assisting on Raising Sales Invoices
  • Filling and Scanning
  • Liaising with Subcontractors and other Suppliers
  • Liaising with other departments and offices


You will gain experience using the following software packages – experience of these would be advantageous:

  • Sage 50
  • Eque2
  • Service Stream
  • MS Office


Required Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 GCSEs A*-C (9-4) Grades, including English, Maths or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive and motivated individual, with the ability to prioritise duties and work to deadlines
  • Good understanding of IT including, Microsoft Works, Outlook, Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail


This role is based at our Doncaster office with excellent staff facilities, free parking and free tea & coffee.   This position benefits from 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays and also receives paid leave while the business is closed over the festive period.  Salary is the standard apprentice rate, and we also offer a travel contribution of up to £50 per month.  We are looking for someone to work full time, 35 hours a week and the hours of work will be 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday with 4 days spent in the office and 1 day at Doncaster College.
