The bar specialises in cocktails, craft beer, pizzas and burgers and the new interior design scheme is inspired by Victorian apothecaries, with oak shelves and cabinets stuffed with antique medicine bottles and equipment.
Concorde BGW began a delicate process of refurbishment by carefully stripping back modern additions to expose many of the late 19th-century features. High ceilings create a welcoming airy space giving a glimpse of paste grandeur. Large period windows bathe diners and drinkers in natural light from three sides and calm heritage colours emphasise the pilasters and arches.
The space is zoned into three distinct styles with sumptuous dining booths, comfortable fixed seating, and industrial-style bar stools, with Georgian metal and glass screens creating intimate areas. Distressed wall finishes and geometric detailing are softened by floral accents and glass bubble lights. Breakfast, brunch and dinner are served up from a striking-looking oven in the open kitchen.
